Custom Crystal Carvings

One-of-a-kind magical allies made just for you.

The Basics of Custom Carvings

I don’t have an order form or options list. A custom carving is made for you and formalizing everything seems to miss the point and is limiting to what I aim to produce. Instead I’d rather chat or exchange some texts or emails to work through what you want.

That said, the main things you’ll want to think about are:

  • What kind of stone?

  • How big?

  • What are you using the stone for? (That said, it is absolutely fine to say “I just want it to look good in my house”, not everything has to be deep)

  • Are you on an accelerated timeline (perhaps it’s a gift and needs to be given on a certain date)?

  • Do you want any inherent energies or magic imbued into the stone?

If you don’t know the answers to any of this, that’s ok! I’ll ask questions that will get us there. Or I’ve had clients say, “here’s my budget, surprise me” or “I’m celebrating this achievement, make something that reflects that”. This works, too.

There’s a lot of information below on the process of crafting your own magical stone, if you just want to jump to scoping one out send me a note at hello (at) pheroze (dot) com

All About Custom Magical Carvings

What kinds of stones do you work with?

Most of them? Stones all have different levels of brittleness, hardness, and luster that all affect how they will take to carving.

Some stones, like Celestite, are not great for carving because they’re extremely brittle and dissolve fairly quickly in water. Some softer stones, like Turquoise, actually have to be impregnated (not that way!) with resin in order to retain it’s luster through the carving process. Almost anything is possible, but not everything is recommended.

Some stones are not readily available in larger sizes, so that’s a factor.

If you’re not sure what stone you want, or are picking between a few, let me know and I can help guide you. If I don’t have it in stock I’ll try to track it down.

Where can I see your carvings?

On this site on the gallery page. On Instagram. Or in select stores. Soon you’ll be able to see finished pieces I have for sale on my online store too.

Can I look through your stones and pick one for you to carve?

For sure, I want you involved in the process. If you’re in the Monterey, CA area we can arrange to do this in person. Or I will send pics of different options and we can hop on Facetime or Zoom and I can show you stuff.

If I have my own stone that I’d like you to carve, will you do it?

Maybe. Show me what you have and lets discuss.

How long will a custom order take?

I can’t say for sure. It depends on my queue and your project. While I create time to work on this weekly, this isn’t the entirety of my business

I will update you with pics and status throughout the process.

How much will a carving cost?

Depends on a combination of size, materials, and form, all of which impact the time spent on your project. If you want a magical infusion, this is scoped separately as well. Shipping is calculated at the end, though I try to use USPS flat rate shipping so weight isn’t as much of a factor.

How does payment work?

For most custom orders, a 50% nonrefundable deposit is due prior to work being started. 50% + shipping is due before it ships.

For larger custom orders - multiple pieces or large-scale pieces - a 50% nonrefundable deposit is due prior to work being started. 25% is due halfway through the process and 25% + shipping is due before it ships.

I accept PayPal, Zelle, or Venmo.

I have a store, do you sell wholesale?

I have a different arrangement for stores. Reach out and let’s discuss.

What are talismans, amulets, generators, and guardians?

Talismans draw things to you. A talisman can be created for a specific material purpose, like drawing money to you, or for a spirit or energetic purpose, like attracting Jupiterian energy to you. Talismans can be made to be portable and carried around with you, or for a specific place like your office.

Amulets repel things from you. This can be crafted for something generally protective like bad luck, or harmful energy. Or it can be specific, like for a shitty ex or family member. Amulets are generally portable, but also can be positioned in a location (like how the evil eye is placed at entrances).

Generators broadcast and project energy “up and out”. So they’re great for the center of grids, or placed in a location like a place of business, or an altar.

Guardians actively offer protection from malevolent energies, spirits, and people. Guardians also help tap into ancestral knowledge. Skulls make great guardians. If you’re wondering what the difference between an amulet and guardian is: Amulets repel or block; think wall or shield. Guardians engage, warn, and transmute; think sentry or attack dog.

Points focus energy. These can be part of a wand or the stone on its own. Double terminated points (a point on each end) allows energy to flow two ways.

What kinds of magical infusions can you provide for the stone?

The mere act of creating is magical act unto itself. That said, when I create a carving, it is crafted with a specific alignment to your energy (or the energy of the person you’re gifting it to). You can change this on your own whenever you want, but out the gate it will come ready to work with your energy.

Note that different infusions and alignments have different costs which we can discuss when scoping out your magical carving.

Here are some specific requests I offer:

  • Stone Linking: This is when I tie two or more stones together energetically, which allows them to communicate across distances. The essential principle of this is to connect the stones’ resonant frequencies to each other and then to your light body.

Some ways I’ve used this are, to connect to another person by giving them one stone and keeping the other (great for couples or families). Connecting to my altar or other place by leaving one stone on there and carrying the other. Linking two or more locations together, like your office and your home. There are a lot of possibilities with this!

  • Grid Setting: This is when I craft multiple stones to use for a specific grid and then connect them to each other. This way, all you have to do is arrange the grid and let it do its thing. Grids can be used for prosperity, success, protection, sacred space - pretty much anything.

  • Deity Resonance: If you work with a deity, we can create a carving that honors and amplifies the presence of the deity in your life. This can incorporate a sigil or symbol that you create or choose. If you want me to create a sigil for you, I can do so.

  • Spirit House: I can create two different types of spirit houses.

One is a spirit house crafted to honor the protective spirits of your home or property. These provide a place to make offerings to these spirits and frequently provide temporary shelter for them. Why would you do this? Your home may be built on the literal home of other spirits, or local spirits may not be a fan of the developments in your neighborhood. Providing a high resonance space for them goes a long way in allyship.

The other is a spirit house built to house a specific spirit - perhaps a guide or a servitor. This would provide a high resonance space for the spirit to draw upon and reside in. Uses for this can be for a guardian spirit to protect a space, a spirit to enhance your intuition, a spirit to add a calming resonance to your space, and more. If you need me to create the spirit for you, I’ll consider it, but this needs a careful approach and involves an entirely different aspect of my services and business.

Like any house, spirit houses require upkeep. Primarily in the form of offerings and cleansings.

Will cleansing my carving remove the magical infusion?

Nope. General cleansing will just remove energies that don't resonate with the stone but were taken on. You can, if you want, deliberately remove all the magical infusions from the stone (akin to reprogramming), but it won’t happen by accident.
