Confession time. While one of my first crystals was a piece of natural Citrine, I’ve never really understood the hype behind citrine. Citrine’s fine, but I don’t see the added benefit to it over other types of Quartz. Add on top of that the fact that most Citrine out there is artificially heat-treated or irradiated Smoky Quartz, and I’d rather just not, y’know?
Well, my good ma’am/sir, I just worked with Kundalini Citrine and I’ve been holding one of these pieces like a (sharp) baby’s blanket for a week.
Kundalini Citrine is natural Citrine from Congo and it often grows in these radial bursts that you don’t see often in other types of Quartz.
Let’s get this out of the way: there’s nothing Kundalini about it. I’m sure someone somewhere is espousing the Kundalini awakening benefits of this stone, but it’s straight up marketing term.
Instead, this Citrine is a powerful magickal ally. It’s a stone that feels more ‘alive’ than others, even if you’re not sensitive to energy. It’s a bit of a chameleon in that it can channel great power but also be incredibly gentle. It feels like the Sun in crystal form.
So, while I’m still not too into Citrine overall, this variety is currently in my top magickal stones list. It goes to show that there’s a lot more to the crystal than just the type of stone it is.
These pieces are all natural. In fact, by request, I received them completely raw and caked in dirt and iron. I cleaned each one by hand, so what you’re getting is a stone I’ve worked with and on as well. This is not a cheap stone, but it’s worth it.
