Lapis Lazuli has a reputation as a powerful high vibration stone for good reason. From as far back as 4000 B.C.E., King and Pharaohs of ancient Egypt commonly had their sarcophagus inlaid with Lapis, which considering it’s not found in Egypt means it was sought out and imported. The “sapphire” referred to in the Old Testament is thought to actually be Lapis Lazuli.

The Greeks and Romans used it as an ornamental stone, and in medieval Europe it was considered a protection stone from dark spirits, and a favorable stone of wise spirits. It’s been used by Buddhists as a stone of inner peace, a source of the pigment ultramarine by Michelangelo, and Catherine the Great decorated an entire room in her palace with the shining blue stone.
