I came across old stock Lapis Lazuli tumbles and had to grab them right away for you. Why is it important to me that I got old stock Lapis? Well, most Lapis Lazuli on the market these days is mined in Taliban-run mines in Afghanistan. The miners themselves aren’t necessarily Taliban, but the Taliban takes a cut and I’d prefer not to add any money to a terror-organization’s coffers when possible.
Lapis Lazuli has a reputation as a powerful high vibration stone for good reason. From as far back as 4000 B.C.E., King and Pharaohs of ancient Egypt commonly had their sarcophagus inlaid with Lapis, which considering it’s not found in Egypt means it was sought out and imported. The “sapphire” referred to in the Old Testament is thought to actually be Lapis Lazuli.
The Greeks and Romans used it as an ornamental stone, and in medieval Europe it was considered a protection stone from dark spirits, and a favorable stone of wise spirits. It’s been used by Buddhists as a stone of inner peace, a source of the pigment ultramarine by Michelangelo, and Catherine the Great decorated an entire room in her palace with the shining blue stone.
I feel Lapis Lazuli as a stone of mastery. Not the learning kind of mastery, but more of a “rise to the occasion” type of mastery. As a stone of royalty, it asks you to rise to the level of a true leader. It’s a great psychic awakener as well.
One more thing, Lapis is a softer stone, so if you carry it with you be sure to wrap it in a soft cloth or leather if you don’t want it to get scratched.
Lapis Lazuli is a classic. Don’t miss out on this terror-free stock I have, in fact, buy one and get two free!
