Larimar Slab
Larimar is the Caribbean Seas, a gorgeous, smooth blue with sunlit patterns all over its surface.
I rarely meet someone who doesn’t appreciate Larimar, it’s a head turner.
Larimar is the crystallized form of the mineral Pectolite, which forms from a combination of elements like silica and calcium that emerge from volcanic hydrothermal vents. Most of its brilliant blue color is from Copper and Vanadinite which replaces the calcium over time. The convergence of conditions to form Larimar only occurs in the Bahoruco Mountain Range in the Dominican Republic, making this quite a rare stone.
Even when factoring in its rarity, I think most folks overprice Larimar. I’ve don’t want to say it’s reputation is taken advantage of but…
Don’t get me wrong, it is, and should be, a more expensive stone, but some of the pricing out there is absurd. I’ve seen slabs similar to this one range from 300-600. I think I’ve priced this really fairly.
Larimar’s big water energy is undeniable, but it also has a fire to it that’s evident with the way light plays in and on it. This is a really nice slab and a no-brainer if you’re in the market for the beauty of Larimar.
