Malachite Velvet Specimen
Oh wow, I was super stoked to find a piece of velvet Malachite this big! I have a small piece in my personal collection and thought about keeping this one, but I feel like someone else needs to work with and experience this one
Velvet Malachite is one of those stones that feels unreal to me. It looks like green velour, or a high grade moss is covering the entire stone. But it’s the actually formation of the crystalline parts. This piece feels like the floor of an old growth forest, with the way it plays with the light that shines on it. It even has a cool cave! And it self-stands tall, which is wonderful for display.
While many folks work with Malachite as a heart stone, I like it for prosperity energy, especially for business owners. It used to be commonly worn by traveling merchants for protection and guidance when lost. It’s a great inspiration and creative stone as well.
Malachite is a great healing companion as well. It enables free flowing energy and helps dissolve past conflict and trauma. Its high copper content lends copper’s considerable healing abilities to it as well, including helping with hormonal balancing.
A note: Malachite isn’t actually a rock, it’s a mineral comprised of copper which, in high enough amounts, is toxic to us. While it’s absolutely fine to display and work with, when handling raw malachite, wash your hands afterwards so you don’t ingest any copper dust accidentally. This is a good practice to have when handling any raw stone or mineral.
