Nellite - also found under the names Lion Skin and Honey Stone - isn’t its own mineral but a mix of two powerhouse stones, Tiger’s Eye and the rare Pietersite. It’s uncommon to find this in large deposits, so seeing it in forms outside of smaller tumbled stones is rare.

This stone has beautiful bands of chatoyancy, with a more golden appearance than Tiger’s Eye, combined with splashes of brecciated blue swirls that appear more ordered than they do in Pietersite. To me the stone looks like a sunrise over a horizon of sand dunes.

Pietersite is one of the more psychically activating stones out there, it’s a great mediumship stone. Combined with the protection and vitality of Tiger’s Eye, this is a powerful combination for divination and spirit work.

It’s hard to find Pietersite in any form at a reasonable price, this a great way to work with the energy of this rare stone at about 1/4 of the price.
